Sustainability shouldn't mean compromise. Our Eco-Friendly Fit brings together the materials we rate most highly for environmental credentials — cork and bamboo — both of which happen to be lovely floors in their own right.

Alongside these, we're happy to source responsibly produced timber and low-impact finishes for any wood project. If treading a little lighter matters to you, tell us and we'll build the specification around it.

Cork flooring

Cork is harvested from the bark of the cork oak without felling the tree, making it one of the most genuinely renewable floors available. Underfoot it's unmistakable — warm, soft and quiet, with a natural give that's easy on the body and the ears.

It's naturally insulating and excellent at absorbing sound, which makes it a favourite for bedrooms, studies, snugs and family rooms. Modern cork finishes have moved well beyond the dated look many people remember.

Bamboo flooring

Bamboo is a grass, not a hardwood, and it grows and regenerates far faster than timber — which is what gives it such strong renewable credentials. Strand-woven bamboo is also remarkably hard, often exceeding oak, so it stands up well to busy homes.

It takes finishes beautifully and its clean lines suit contemporary interiors particularly well. We'll confirm suitability for underfloor heating and manage acclimatisation as part of the fit.
